What is Clashdle Pixel?

Clashdle Pixel is the daily Clash of Clans pixel guessing game: the day's troop is shown as a heavily pixelated icon that gets sharper with every wrong guess. Guess the troop from as few pixels as you can. New pixel puzzle every day at 00:00 UTC.

How the pixelation clears

1. The icon starts at a 6×6 block resolution — enough for silhouette and colour, not enough for detail.
2. Each wrong guess raises the resolution one step: 6 → 9 → 13 → 19 → 28 → 40 blocks per side.
3. After the sixth guess the image stays at its clearest pre-solve resolution; solving reveals the full-resolution icon.
4. Guesses are right or wrong only — there are no attribute columns in Pixel mode.

It is real pixelation, not a blur

Pixel mode downsamples the official troop icon to a tiny offscreen canvas and scales it back up with image smoothing switched off, so you get genuine blocky pixels rather than a Gaussian blur. That matters for how you read it: blur destroys edges, pixelation preserves the dominant colour of each region. At 6×6 you are effectively reading a colour histogram — dark elixir purples, the Valkyrie's red hair, the Balloon's brown — and only from about 13 blocks does silhouette become reliable.

Tips and common mistakes

• Read colour first, shape second. At the earliest steps the palette is far more reliable than the outline.
• Look at the background corners — troop icons have consistent frame colours per resource type.
• The common mistake is burning guesses early to force the image clearer. A wrong guess costs you score; studying the 6×6 for ten more seconds costs nothing.
• If you can name the colour scheme but not the troop, try the same roster in Zoom mode to train your eye.

Is the image blurred?

No. It is true pixelation: the icon is downsampled and scaled back up with smoothing off, so blocks stay sharp-edged.
