Clashdle Audio — the daily Clash of Clans Wordle
What is Clashdle Audio?
Clashdle Audio is the daily Clash of Clans sound quiz: press play, listen to a short in-game clip, and name the troop making it. 18 troops have sound clips, and a new one is picked every day at 00:00 UTC.
How Audio mode works
- Press Play to hear the day's clip. Browsers block autoplay with sound, so the first play always needs your tap.
- You can replay the clip as many times as you like — replays are free and never count as a guess.
- Type a troop name to guess. Guesses are simply right or wrong; there are no attribute columns.
- The troop's name and icon are revealed only when you solve it.
Where the sounds come from
The clips are the troops' own deployment and attack sounds from the game, self-hosted as short mp3 files so they load instantly and work offline once cached. Only 18 troops have a distinctive enough clip to be fair, so the Audio pool is smaller than the Troops pool — which also means the same troop comes round more often than in other modes. Headphones genuinely help: several clips are separated mainly by low-frequency content that laptop speakers flatten out.
Tips and common mistakes
- Use headphones if you can. The difference between two similar grunts is often entirely in the bass.
- Listen for the attack rhythm, not just the voice. Attack speed is audible and maps directly onto the troop roster.
- Replay before guessing. Players lose far more score to hasty guesses here than to genuinely unrecognisable clips.
- If no sound plays at all, check your device's silent switch — the clip is a normal HTML audio element.

Audio mode FAQ
- How many troops have sounds?
- 18. Only troops with a clearly recognisable clip are included, so the Audio pool is smaller than the full troop roster.
- Can I replay the sound?
- Yes, as many times as you want. Replays are free and never count as guesses.
- Why does nothing play when I press Play?
- Browsers require a user gesture before playing audio, and phones respect the silent switch. Tap Play once and check your device is not muted.
- Does Audio mode count towards the leaderboard?
- It counts towards your streak but not the competitive leaderboard — the audio file itself is the answer, so the mode cannot be made cheat-proof.
